Yin yoga is a SLOW-PACED yoga style with asanas or postures, that are held for longer periods of time— Asanas are usually held for five minutes, but also can be held for as long as twenty. Be aware that there’s always the possibility to get out of a posture as you are the boss of your body. Tune in and feel what’s right for YOUR BODY.
What can you expect? Yes; there’s going to be some DISCOMFORT during Yin yoga, but there should be NO PAIN. How you deal with discomfort ON the mat is an interesting reflection on how you deal with discomfort OFF the mat.
Yin Yoga is a more meditative approach to practicing yoga as yin aims at cultivating awareness of inner silence.
